Grenade Attack Hits Jafnika Branch in Northern Israel Amid Crime Feud
A grenade exploded on Wednesday morning at a Jafnika convenience store branch in Rosh Pina, prompting a police investigation. This incident is part of an ongoing criminal dispute involving a series of attacks on Jafnika branches and other properties, with 17 grenades detonated in recent days. The attacks are linked to a feud between the Mosli crime organization and the Jarushi family, who are franchisees of the targeted stores.
The Jafnika chain is owned by Barak Abramov, owner of the Beitar Jerusalem football club, who is currently aligned with the Jarushi family. Although Abramov is not personally involved in the conflict, his businesses have been targeted due to his association. Recent attacks include grenade explosions outside homes of individuals connected to Mosli in Ness Ziona, Tel Aviv, and Herzliya, as well as grenade throws at branches in Afula and Netanya. Authorities suspect that weapons stolen from the Israel Defense Forces were used in the Netanya attack.
Additional incidents include an attempted arson at a Jafnika branch in Givatayim that failed, a bomb thrown at a branch in Ramat Gan, and a fragmentation grenade thrown at a branch in Kiryat Ono. The violence has resulted in minor injuries to a passerby and property damage. Police have launched an investigation into the series of attacks. Following the grenade attacks, the head of the Mosli crime organization was arrested, highlighting the escalating conflict between criminal groups centered around the Jafnika chain.
