Two Men Arrested for Throwing Stun Grenade at Residential Building in Ramat Gan

Two men in their twenties from Modiin were arrested overnight on suspicion of throwing a stun grenade at a residential building on Shalom Aleichem Street in Ramat Gan. The grenade exploded in the building's yard, causing property damage but no injuries. Following the incident, police from the Special Crime Fighting Unit of the Shfela region and the Shfela riot police launched an investigation and search operation. The suspects were located shortly after at a gas station, detained, and taken in for questioning. They are expected to appear later today at the Magistrate's Court in Rishon Lezion, where police will request an extension of their detention.

Authorities are investigating whether the attack is linked to the ongoing feud between the Mosli and Jarushi crime families. The police are also examining connections between this grenade attack and a series of recent shootings and grenade throws targeting businesses, vehicles, and residential buildings in the area. In recent weeks, multiple grenade attacks occurred in various locations including Rishon Lezion, Tel Aviv, Afula, Netanya, and Herzliya, with some suspects arrested and others released. The U.S. Embassy in Israel recently issued a warning to its citizens about the rise in violence related to organized crime conflicts, particularly in Tel Aviv, Jaffa, and Herzliya, noting that some assailants arrived on motorcycles.

The police continue to investigate the links among these incidents and the involvement of additional suspects.
