Iran Threatens Regional Blackout If US Attacks Its Energy Infrastructure

Iran has vowed to shut down electricity across the entire Persian Gulf region if the United States attacks its energy infrastructure or destabilizes the regime. This threat follows US President Donald Trump's recent warning of severe retaliation against Iran for any disruption to maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz. Trump declared that any such attack would result in the destruction of key Iranian energy facilities, bridges, and roads, including in Tehran. The escalation comes after an Iranian drone strike caused a ship to catch fire in the Strait of Hormuz. In response, the senior command of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a direct threat. IRGC Air Force Commander Majid Mousavi stated that if the US targets Iran's power plants and bridges, Iran will cut off electricity to Gulf countries, signaling a potential regional blackout as retaliation.
