The source stressed that the agreement is an internal Saudi interest and is not directed against Israel or any other regional state.

The Wall Street Journal reported overnight that US President Donald Trump approved the historic deal with Saudi Arabia, which allows the kingdom to develop civil nuclear infrastructure, including uranium enrichment, under US supervision. According to the New York Times, Saudi Arabia did not concede any conditions regarding normalization with Israel as part of the agreement. Diplomatically, the deal is seen as a significant achievement for Saudi Arabia.

Separately, tensions remain high in Yemen, where the Houthi movement announced a naval blockade against Saudi Arabia, threatening to attack any ship.
