US Intercepts Iranian Missiles Fired Toward Jordan, Arkia Flight Diverts Route

The US military intercepted missiles launched by Iran toward Aqaba, Jordan, with explosions reported in the nearby Israeli city of Eilat. Iranian state-affiliated media reported the missiles were fired from Tabriz and Kermanshah. Residents in Eilat heard explosions, and an Arkia Airlines flight from Tel Aviv to Eilat altered its course mid-air due to the incident.

In recent days, Iran has launched multiple missile attacks targeting Jordan. Earlier this week, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed missile launches from Iran toward Aqaba, warning of possible missile debris falling in southern Israel and advising residents to seek shelter if alerts are issued. Despite the explosions, no sirens were activated in the area.

The US military successfully intercepted the missiles, and Israel's Iron Dome missile defense system was also activated. These events occurred amid ongoing US airstrikes in Iran, targeting sites linked to Iran's ability to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran's emergency command warned that any US attack on its nuclear or sensitive sites would be considered an escalation, promising a strong response against US and allied interests.

The US Central Command reported strikes on multiple Iranian locations including Bushehr, Tabriz, Hormozgan, Khuzestan, Sistan and Baluchestan, Ilam, and Kurdistan provinces. There were also reports of air defense activations in Tehran. The situation remains tense as regional military activities continue to escalate.
