Three Sentenced to 25-27 Years for Murder of 21-Year-Old Oser Gazi in Eilat

The Beersheba District Court sentenced three men to lengthy prison terms for the murder of 21-year-old Oser Gazi in Eilat in June 2023. The defendants, Netanel Zikri, Yahav Dadon, and Ilai Rozet, received sentences of 27 years for Zikri and Dadon, and 25 years for Rozet, who cooperated significantly with investigators.

According to the indictment, the three conspired to attack Gazi over a personal dispute. On the night of the murder, they blocked the taxi in which Gazi was traveling, exited their vehicle, and two of them stabbed him repeatedly across his body while the third threatened the taxi driver to prevent interference or reporting. After the killing, they fled, washed and hid the knives, discarded their clothes, and set their car on fire to destroy evidence.

The court accepted the prosecution's argument that the murder was premeditated and carried out as a coordinated criminal act. The judges condemned the ease with which the defendants decided to harm and kill Gazi, noting their preparation with knives and disguises as particularly chilling. Alongside prison terms, Zikri was ordered to pay 200,000 shekels in compensation to the victim's family, while Dadon and Rozet were each ordered to pay 150,000 shekels.

The prosecution had requested 30-year sentences for each defendant, emphasizing their full partnership in the crime.
