Three Men Sentenced to 25-27 Years for 2023 Murder of Oshir Gazi in Southern Israel
The Be'er Sheva District Court sentenced three men to lengthy prison terms for the murder of 21-year-old Oshir Gazi in June 2023. Netanel Zikri and Yahav Dadon received 27 years each, while Ilai Rozet was sentenced to 25 years. The defendants were convicted under a plea deal of joint murder, arson, evidence destruction, obstruction of justice, and witness tampering. According to the amended indictment, the trio conspired to harm Gazi due to a personal dispute. They located him riding in a taxi on Highway 90, blocked the vehicle, and two of them stabbed Gazi multiple times while the third threatened the driver to prevent interference or reporting. Additionally, Zikri was ordered to pay 200,000 shekels in compensation to Gazi's family, with Dadon and Rozet each liable for 150,000 shekels.
