Italian Club Lecce Threatens Legal Action Over Zambia Forward's No-Show

Lecce, the Italian football club, is facing a dispute with Zambian striker Lamka Banda, who has yet to join the team for their training camp in Austria. Banda, 25, was expected to arrive on Tuesday but did not show up, prompting frustration within the club. Lecce stated that Banda cited logistical and bureaucratic issues preventing him from landing in Italy, but the club remains unconvinced by these explanations.

Lecce has announced it reserves the right to take any necessary measures against Banda, including legal action, accusing him of breaching his contract by failing to report for training. Banda previously played two seasons in Israel, one with Maccabi Netanya and another with Maccabi Petah Tikva, before transferring to Lecce in 2022 for 2 million euros. During his time in Italy's top league, he scored five goals and provided four assists for Lecce.

The club's firm stance signals escalating tensions as they await Banda's response or arrival, with potential legal proceedings looming if the situation remains unresolved.
