Five Illegal Palestinian Workers Arrested at Construction Site in Bat Yam

Five Palestinian residents from the West Bank were arrested on the morning of their discovery at a construction site on Ben Gurion Street in Bat Yam for allegedly residing and working in Israel without legal permits. The operation was conducted by Bat Yam police officers, municipal enforcement volunteers, the city’s urban supervision unit, and the Lavi patrol under a search warrant. The five individuals were found living at the construction site, which had effectively become a residential area.

Following their arrest, the individuals were taken to Bat Yam police station for questioning. Authorities plan to request an extension of their detention based on the investigation’s findings. Concurrently, police licensing officers are considering issuing a closure order for the construction site, and the investigation into the employers who allegedly hired the illegal workers is ongoing.
