Mitsubishi Outlander Micro-Hybrid Turbo Launches in Israel with Upgraded Features and Lower Prices

Mitsubishi has introduced an updated version of the Outlander micro-hybrid in Israel, featuring a new 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, enhanced equipment, and reduced pricing. The Outlander remains the sole Mitsubishi model available locally after European emission regulations halted the marketing of other models and the brand shifted to rebadged Renault vehicles in Europe. Since its launch in Israel, about 62,000 Outlanders have been sold, including 24,000 units of the current generation.

Despite strong competition from lower-priced Chinese imports and plug-in hybrid models like the MG S9, the Outlander continues to hold a significant market presence. The new micro-hybrid version combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with mild hybrid support, delivering 174 horsepower and 28.6 kgm of torque at 3,000 rpm. It is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and offers front-wheel or all-wheel drive options. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 9.7 seconds for the front-wheel-drive model and 10 seconds for the 4x4, with fuel efficiency rated at 11.9 km/l and 11.5 km/l respectively.

Compared to the previous 2.5-liter gasoline engine, the new turbocharged unit produces slightly less power but achieves it at lower engine speeds, with improved torque and marginally better fuel economy. The updated Outlander also benefits from a richer list of comfort and convenience features. Prices have been reduced by between 1,000 and 9,000 shekels depending on the trim level, which includes Intense, Executive, Instyle, Luxury, and Luxury TTH variants. This refresh aims to strengthen the Outlander's competitiveness in the Israeli SUV market.
