Balcony Collapse in Jerusalem Injures Several, Rescue Teams Conducting Search and Aid

A balcony collapsed on Monday afternoon on Keren Kayemet LeIsrael Street in Jerusalem near a business, prompting emergency services to respond to reports of trapped and injured individuals. Initial reports indicate the incident occurred at a branch of Angel Bakery. Police from the Jerusalem district, firefighters, Magen David Adom (MDA) teams, and United Hatzalah volunteers are actively engaged in rescuing those trapped, providing medical treatment to the injured, and conducting searches to ensure no one else remains trapped.

The police have closed off roads leading to the scene and isolated the area to facilitate rescue operations. MDA received the emergency call at 17:25, reporting the balcony collapse. One unconscious man was found trapped under the debris, while three others sustained light injuries and are receiving medical care. Firefighters from the HaUma station are carrying out rescue and assessment efforts alongside other emergency personnel.
