Grandfather Faces Serious Sexual Abuse Charges Against Two Granddaughters in Bat Yam

A 70-year-old grandfather from Bat Yam is under investigation for allegedly sexually abusing two of his minor granddaughters in multiple incidents. The probe began on July 7, 2026, after one granddaughter filed a complaint describing inappropriate acts by her grandfather. During the investigation, a second granddaughter also testified that she experienced similar abuse at age 14 and a half, including inappropriate touching.

Police from the Bat Yam station conducted a complex inquiry, collecting evidence and interviewing several individuals. On July 12, the suspect was arrested and interrogated. He admitted to the acts but attempted to justify them by claiming the granddaughter was "without boundaries" and that his actions were intended to "prepare them for adulthood." A judge extended his detention multiple times, most recently until July 22.

Following the completion of the investigation, the prosecution filed an indictment declaration against the suspect on the morning of July 17. The Tel Aviv District Attorney's Office is expected to submit a formal indictment soon, charging him with serious sexual offenses against his two minor granddaughters. The case highlights a tragic breach of trust within a family setting.
