Shock Grenade Explosions Reported in Tel Aviv and Ramat Hasharon Amid Rising Criminal Tensions

During the night between Sunday and Monday, shock grenades exploded in Tel Aviv and Ramat Hasharon, signaling a growing trend of such incidents. In Ramat Hasharon, a grenade detonated near a residential building courtyard in the city center, while in Tel Aviv, an explosion occurred close to an apartment building in the northern neighborhood of Kochav HaTzafon. No injuries or property damage were reported in either case. Police have launched investigations and are collecting evidence, with the incidents believed to be criminal in nature.

These events follow a similar explosion of a shock grenade near a private home in the northern Tel Aviv neighborhood of Tzahala just the previous day, also without damage or injuries. Additionally, law enforcement actions have intensified: a 28-year-old man from Kiryat Ata was arrested on suspicion of attempting to set fire to a Japnika branch in Haifa's Carmel Center last week, with his detention extended until today.

Over the weekend, an 18-year-old from Bat Yam was arrested for allegedly throwing a stun grenade at a Japnika restaurant in Kiryat Ono last week. This arrest came three days after the detention of Yossi Mosli, the head of a crime organization, amid ongoing grenade-throwing incidents in the Gush Dan area linked to financial disputes with the Jerushi crime group. Police also detained an 18-year-old and two men in their 30s from the Gush Dan region on suspicion of involvement in these events.
