Hapoel Tel Aviv Pursues Brazilian Winger Christian Barleta from Brazil's Second Division
Hapoel Tel Aviv is actively negotiating to sign Brazilian winger Christian Barleta, who currently plays for Recife in Brazil's second division. The 25-year-old right winger, known for his strong left foot, can also operate on the left wing or behind the striker. Barleta has been a key player for Recife over the past two years, scoring 11 goals and providing 8 assists in 31 appearances this season across all competitions, including 8 goals and 3 assists in 16 league matches.
Barleta began his career in Brazil's lower leagues and has moved between three clubs from March 2023 to February 2024, each transfer reportedly costing around one million euros. His previous teams include Corinthians and Ceara. Over his career, he has made 89 appearances in Brazil's second division, scoring 24 goals and assisting 7, as well as 37 appearances in the top Brazilian league with 2 goals.
Hapoel Tel Aviv is seeking a replacement for Luizão, who recently left the club, and views Barleta as a suitable addition to their attacking lineup. The club is currently in discussions with Recife regarding the transfer fee, as Barleta is under contract until summer 2028.
