Maccabi Tel Aviv Nears Signing Slovenian Forward Aster Sokler This Week

Following their impressive victory over Hapoel Be'er Sheva in the Champion of Champions match, Maccabi Tel Aviv is advancing preparations for the 2026/27 season. The club has made significant progress in acquiring Slovenian forward Aster Sokler, after earlier negotiations for Serbian player Radnički appeared stalled. Maccabi Tel Aviv is expected to pay around one million euros for Sokler, whose market value is estimated at 1.5 million euros by Transfermarkt. The deal is anticipated to be finalized within the coming week.

Sokler, who began his career in Slovenia, was sold to Aberdeen in Scotland in summer 2023 for 350,000 euros. After two seasons with Aberdeen, scoring 12 goals in 72 appearances, he was loaned to Serbian club Radnički last summer and later purchased by them for 225,000 euros. Despite his team's overall poor season, Sokler had a strong personal performance, scoring 15 league goals in 29 matches and helping his club avoid relegation.

Meanwhile, Maccabi Tel Aviv has yet to make progress in negotiations with Amir Sehiti, with notable gaps remaining between the parties. As a result, the club has started exploring alternative candidates for the right-wing position to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
