Key Associate of Jeroushi Brothers Surrenders Amid Japnika Crime Probe

Issa Al-Wahwah, a close associate of Ismail and Issam Jeroushi, surrendered to the Central Unit of the Israeli police and had his detention extended by three days as part of the ongoing investigation into the Japnika case. During a court hearing on July 19, 2026, Al-Wahwah denied allegations of conflicts between criminal organizations, stating, "We have no dispute with Musli; it is the police who want this conflict." Despite his denial, the court approved the extension to allow further investigative actions.

Al-Wahwah's surrender followed a police raid at his home last week, during which he was not present. His arrest comes a day after the detention of Khaled Hamada from Lod, who is also considered a significant figure in the criminal network under investigation. A senior police official told N12 that pressure on these organizations will continue, warning that if the criminal conflicts persist, the police will ensure the groups understand the consequences.

In a related incident, a stun grenade was thrown last night at a private residence in the Tzahala neighborhood, a location linked to the Jeroushi family. The Tel Aviv district police have launched an investigation into this attack. Defense attorney Walid Kaboub, representing the suspects, described the arrests as "show arrests" intended by the police to create an impression, and stated that his clients deny all charges against them.
