Close Associate of Jeroushi Brothers Surrenders Amid Japnika Crime Investigation

Issa Al-Wahwah, a close associate of Ismail and Issam Jeroushi, surrendered to the Central Unit of the Israeli Police and had his detention extended by three days as part of the ongoing Japnika case investigation. During a court hearing on July 19, 2026, Al-Wahwah denied allegations of conflicts between criminal organizations, stating, "We have no dispute with Musli; it is the police who want this conflict." Despite his denial, the court allowed investigators to continue their inquiry by extending his detention.

Al-Wahwah's surrender followed a police search at his home the previous week, where he was not present. His arrest came a day after the detention of Khaled Hamada from Lod, who is also suspected to be a significant figure in the same criminal network. A senior police official told N12 that pressure on these organizations will continue, warning that if the conflicts persist, the police will ensure the involved parties understand the consequences.

In a related incident, police in the Tel Aviv district are investigating the throwing of a stun grenade at a private residence in the Tzahala neighborhood, a location linked to the Jeroushi family. Defense attorney Walid Kabob, representing the suspects, criticized the arrests as showy police actions intended to create an impression rather than based on solid evidence. The Jeroushi family has not commented on the matter.
