Police Arrest Yossi Mosli in Wave of Attacks on Japanika Chain Branches
Israeli police made a breakthrough in the investigation of recent attacks on branches of the Japanika restaurant chain by arresting Yossi Mosli, head of the Mosli crime organization, on Tuesday. Mosli is suspected of involvement in throwing stun grenades at several Japanika locations owned by businessman Barak Abramov. Two additional suspects were also detained, and all three are expected to appear in court on Wednesday for an extension of their detention.
The investigation includes testimonies from Barak Abramov and other executives of the Japanika chain, aiming to uncover the motives behind the attacks and map the connections among those involved. These incidents are part of a series of shootings and grenade attacks targeting businesses and residences in central Israel over recent days.
Police suspect that the attacks represent a new chapter in the ongoing conflict between the Mosli and Jarushi crime families. Sources familiar with the investigation noted that Japanika is associated with individuals close to the Jarushi family, which may explain why the chain has become a target in the violent rivalry between these criminal organizations.
