Crime Boss Yossi Mosli Arrested Over Attacks on Cafes in Central Israel
Yossi Mosli, the head of a crime organization, was arrested by the Tel Aviv District Central Unit on Tuesday evening on suspicion of involvement in shootings and grenade attacks targeting businesses in the Gush Dan area and central Israel. Mosli, a Tel Aviv resident in his 40s, was taken for interrogation at the Tel Aviv District Investigation Unit and is scheduled to appear tomorrow at the Magistrate's Court for a detention extension hearing. The police stated that the investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected.
The arrest follows a series of violent attacks against branches of the Jafnika café chain, including grenade throws at locations in Netanya and Afula, and gunfire at a branch in Herzliya. No injuries were reported, but property damage occurred. Barak Abramov, owner of the Jafnika chain, publicly addressed the attacks for the first time, describing them as an extortion attempt demanding protection money. Abramov said he refused to pay and is determined not to be blackmailed.
Earlier reports revealed that the attacks are linked to an escalation in conflict between the Mosli and Jarushi crime organizations. Some franchisees of Jafnika are allegedly connected to the Jarushi group, making the chain a target in the dispute. Authorities emphasized there is no suspicion of Abramov himself being involved in any criminal activity.
