US Deploys Additional Fighter Jets and Tankers to Middle East Amid Rising Iran Tensions

The United States has begun sending dozens of additional fighter jets to the Middle East amid escalating tensions with Iran. An F-16 squadron recently landed in Jordan, with more fighter jets, including F-35s and F-16s, expected to arrive at various bases across the region in the coming days. A US official told Kan News that the deployment will be completed soon after logistical preparations are finalized.

Simultaneously, the US administration has informed Israel of plans to increase the number of aerial refueling tankers stationed there. This follows reports that President Donald Trump intends to send more tankers to support potential strikes against Iran. Some of these tankers have already arrived at Ovda Airbase in southern Israel from Qatar, with additional aircraft expected at other Israeli Air Force bases.

In coordination with Israel and under pressure from Transportation Minister Miri Regev, efforts are underway to minimize tanker traffic at Ben Gurion Airport to avoid flight cancellations. However, Israeli security officials emphasize that in the event of an escalation with Iran, security needs will take precedence over other considerations.

The developments come amid fears of further US escalation against Iran, following US strikes on Iranian energy facilities and Iran's retaliatory fire on US bases. There is concern that Israel could be drawn into a broader conflict on the brink of explosion.
