US Sends Additional Tanker Planes to Israel Amid Plans to Expand Military Action Against Iran
The Trump administration has informed Israel that it is deploying dozens of additional aerial refueling tankers to the country in preparation for a possible significant expansion of military operations against Iran. This update was reported by three American and Israeli sources to Axios. The planned escalation would go beyond the current focus on the Strait of Hormuz area, targeting multiple sites across Iran.
Recently, Iran's Revolutionary Guards claimed responsibility for an attack on the US special forces command center at the Al-Tanf base in Syria, reportedly in retaliation for the killing of Iranian soldiers in the city of Iranshahr. Meanwhile, the US Central Command announced a new wave of strikes against Iranian targets, marking the fifth consecutive night of attacks aimed at degrading Iran's military capabilities.
According to Central Command, the strikes targeted locations from which Iran launches missiles and drones at commercial vessels. Iranian news agency Fars reported that the US attacked a bridge connecting Bandar Abbas to Shiraz in southern Iran, resulting in two deaths and four injuries. Additional strikes reportedly hit railway stations and military bases in Bushehr province.
Central Command also stated that it altered the routes of three commercial ships attempting to breach the naval blockade on Iran and disabled another vessel that failed to comply with orders. US forces boarded one ship to enforce full compliance with the ongoing maritime embargo against Iran.
