US Deploys Additional Fighter Jets and Tankers to Middle East, Boosts Israeli Air Force Support

Amid escalating tensions between the United States and Iran, the US has begun deploying dozens of additional fighter jets across the Middle East, according to Kan News. An F-16 squadron landed in Jordan within the past 24 hours, with more fighter jets expected to arrive at various bases in the region in the coming days. A US official told Kan News that the reinforcements include F-35 and F-16 squadrons, with deployment expected to conclude soon after logistical preparations are completed.

Simultaneously, the US administration has informed Israel of plans to adjust its regional deployment by sending additional aerial refueling tankers to support Israeli operations. This follows an Axios report stating that President Donald Trump intends to send more tankers to the area to aid potential strikes against Iran. Some tankers have already arrived at Ovda Airbase in southern Israel from Qatar, with more expected at other Israeli Air Force bases in the south.

In coordination with Israel and under pressure from Transportation Minister Miri Regev, efforts are underway to minimize tanker arrivals at Ben Gurion Airport to avoid disruptions to civilian air traffic and flight cancellations. Nevertheless, Israeli security officials emphasize that in the event of escalation with Iran, security needs will take precedence over other considerations.
