US Fighter Jets to Land at Israeli Bases Amid Rising Iran Tensions

Several American fighter jets en route to the Middle East are expected to land at Israeli airbases, according to reports from Kan News on Sunday morning. This follows a Saturday report that the United States has begun deploying dozens of additional fighter jets to the region amid escalating tensions with Iran. An F-16 squadron recently landed in Jordan, with more jets scheduled to arrive at various Middle Eastern bases in the coming days. A US official told Kan News that the reinforcements include F-35 and F-16 squadrons, with deployments expected to conclude soon after logistical preparations are completed.

Simultaneously, the US administration has informed Israel of plans to alter its regional deployment by sending additional aerial refueling aircraft to the area. This move supports potential airstrikes against Iran and follows President Donald Trump's reported intention to bolster the air refueling fleet. Some of these refueling planes have already arrived at Ovda Airbase in southern Israel after coming from Qatar, with more expected at other Israeli Air Force bases.

Due to security coordination and concerns raised by Israeli Transportation Minister Miri Regev, efforts are underway to minimize the presence of refueling aircraft at Ben Gurion Airport to avoid disruptions to civilian flights. However, Israeli security officials emphasize that in the event of an escalation with Iran, security needs will take precedence over other considerations. The buildup reflects growing US-Israeli cooperation amid fears of further conflict, with recent US strikes on Iranian energy facilities and Iranian retaliatory fire on US bases heightening regional tensions.
