IDF Eliminates Hamas Chief Sniper in Precision Strike in Gaza

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted a precise targeted operation in central Gaza, killing Omar Ahmad Abu Qassem, the chief sniper for Hamas. Abu Qassem was a key figure in Hamas's military wing, responsible for planning and executing deadly sniper attacks against Israeli forces throughout the conflict. Despite the ceasefire, he actively worked to rebuild Hamas's sniper capabilities and promoted new terror tactics against IDF soldiers.

Security officials emphasized that Abu Qassem's actions violated the ceasefire agreements and posed a direct, ongoing threat to Israeli troops operating in the area. His activities included training additional militants and orchestrating further terror operations. This targeted killing follows a series of recent IDF operations aimed at neutralizing immediate threats in Gaza, including the elimination of Hamas’s production chief and two senior Nukhba commanders in northern Gaza.
