Five Days After the Dismissal, Mossad Chief Gofman Appoints a New Deputy
Five days after the dismissal, Mossad chief Roman Gofman is appointing a new deputy. Gofman, who took office last week and immediately afterward dismissed A., who had served as deputy to Dadi Barnea, announced today, Thursday, his decision to appoint another senior official, also identified as A., as the new deputy and the next head of the Operations Directorate.
According to the announcement, the new deputy A. has served in a variety of roles at the core of operational activity and brings with him knowledge, experience, and a deep familiarity with the organization. His appointment was approved by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and he will assume the position immediately.
