Israeli Police Officer Suspected of Obstructing Murder Investigation in Jerusalem Airbnb Case
A police officer from the traffic division was questioned by the Israeli Police Investigations Department (Mahash) on July 15, 2026, on suspicion of obstructing the investigation into the murder of Benyahu Razi, who was killed in an Airbnb apartment in Jerusalem. The officer is reportedly a relative of one of the suspects involved in the case. Authorities suspect that she met with two of the suspects shortly after the murder and took actions that could have hindered the investigation. According to Mahash, these meetings occurred before the suspects were arrested, and the officer failed to report them to law enforcement as required. She faces charges of obstruction of justice and breach of trust. After questioning, the officer was released under restrictive conditions including three days of house arrest, an eight-day ban on approaching the suspects, and a prohibition on contacting those involved in the case.
