Israeli Police Officer Investigated for Obstructing Justice in Jerusalem Airbnb Murder Case

The investigation into the murder of 19-year-old Benyahu Razi at a Jerusalem Airbnb has expanded to include a traffic police officer suspected of obstructing justice. The officer, related to one of the two main suspects, Linor Sasson (50) from Jerusalem and Shilat Huta (19) from Beersheba, allegedly met with the suspects shortly after the murder and was informed about the case details. According to the Police Investigations Department, the officer took actions intended to hinder the investigation before the suspects were arrested and failed to report these actions to law enforcement authorities as required.

Following her interrogation, the officer was released under restrictive conditions, including three days of house arrest, an eight-day ban on approaching the case participants, and a prohibition on contacting those involved. The investigation remains ongoing. Linor Sasson was recently released from prison after convictions for fraud and threats. Her husband, Kfir Sasson, also has a criminal record, having served time for shooting at a police detective in 2001.

Benyahu Razi was fatally stabbed last Saturday in the Nahalat neighborhood of Jerusalem. Six suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder, and their detention has been extended by the court. Magen David Adom paramedics Shlomo Kalman and Yinon Eisenberg, who responded to the scene, described finding Razi unconscious, without pulse or breathing, with severe penetrating injuries. Despite prolonged resuscitation efforts and emergency transport to the hospital, his condition was critical at the time.
