Neftchi Baku Resumes Negotiations Over Freddy Vargas Transfer From Maccabi Netanya

Neftchi Baku has returned to negotiations with Maccabi Netanya regarding the transfer of Venezuelan player Freddy Vargas after initially refusing to pay his 900,000 euro release clause. Vargas, who remains under contract with Netanya, has refused to return to Israel due to the current security situation. Netanya has made it clear to Vargas that they do not intend to release him without appropriate compensation. Vargas considered requesting a contract release from UEFA due to the circumstances but abandoned the idea after tensions eased, realizing it was unlikely to succeed.

Meanwhile, Netanya confirmed the candidacy of winger Christian Novacek, previously acquired by Sheffield for 1.2 million euros, as reported by Sport Channel. Alongside the interest in Novacek, negotiations continue with player Dolev Haziza. The club plans to hold another friendly match and aims to strengthen its squad with at least four additional players before the start of the next season.
