Maccabi Haifa and Maccabi Netanya Disagree on Karam Jaber Transfer Terms
Maccabi Haifa continues to pursue additional signings ahead of the new league season, targeting at least two more players including goalkeeper Omer Katz from Hapoel Petah Tikva and defender Karam Jaber from Maccabi Netanya. While Katz has agreed to terms with Haifa, his release from Petah Tikva is still pending. Haifa is optimistic that either Katz or Omer Niroan, who is expected to return to full fitness next month, will join the squad, with Glen Alwin set to be the third-choice goalkeeper and Mark Golenkov moving back to the youth team.
Regarding Karam Jaber, significant financial differences remain between Haifa and Netanya. Netanya demands 500,000 euros for Jaber's transfer, whereas Haifa is currently willing to pay approximately 145,000 euros. Jaber is under contract with Netanya until the end of the season, with Netanya holding an option for an additional year. Haifa prefers to include players not in their plans for the upcoming season, such as Zohar Zasno, Itay Ahuad, Peter Agba, Goni Naor, and Amit Erezi (who is recovering from injury), as part of the deal.
Maccabi Haifa has not yet finalized these transfers but remains active in the market as the league opener approaches.
