Maccabi Haifa and Maccabi Netanya Disagree Over Karame Jaber Transfer Terms

Maccabi Haifa continues to pursue new signings ahead of the league's start, targeting at least two additional players including goalkeeper Omer Katz from Hapoel Petah Tikva and defender Karame Jaber from Maccabi Netanya. While Katz has agreed to terms with Haifa, his release from Petah Tikva remains unresolved. Haifa is prepared to compensate Petah Tikva and offer loaned players such as Itay Ahuad in exchange for Katz. The club is optimistic that either Katz or Omer Niroan, who is expected to return to full fitness next month, will join, with Glen Alwin set to be the third-choice goalkeeper and Mark Golankov moving back to the youth team.

Regarding Karame Jaber, significant financial differences persist between Haifa and Netanya. Netanya demands 500,000 euros for Jaber's transfer, while Haifa is currently willing to pay approximately 145,000 euros. Jaber's contract with Netanya runs through the end of the season, with an option for an additional year held by Netanya. Haifa prefers to include players not in their plans for the upcoming season, such as Zohar Zasno, Itay Ahuad, Peter Agba, Goni Naor, and Amit Erezi (recovering from injury), as part of the deal. Negotiations remain ongoing as Haifa seeks to strengthen its squad before the league kickoff.
