Liel Abada Faces Uncertain Future at Charlotte Amid New Wing Signings

Liel Abada, the Israeli winger currently playing for Charlotte FC in Major League Soccer, may be heading for a new club after two and a half years with the team. Since joining Charlotte in March 2024 from Celtic, where he made 112 appearances with 29 goals and 22 assists, Abada has had a solid start, scoring seven goals and providing one assist in 27 appearances during his first season. In his second season, he featured in 39 games, netting six goals and two assists across all competitions.

However, Abada's role has diminished this season, with only five starts and 444 minutes played in 17 matches. The situation has become more competitive following Charlotte's recent signing of experienced winger Allan Saint-Maximin, formerly of Newcastle and Monaco, which adds depth to the right-wing position Abada occupies.

While Saint-Maximin's arrival does not guarantee Abada's departure, reports indicate interest from several clubs, including Greek side PAOK Thessaloniki, Birmingham City, and Norwich City.
