Oman Proposes Two Separate Shipping Routes Through Strait of Hormuz to Iran

CNN reports that Oman has proposed to Iran the establishment of two separate shipping lanes through the Strait of Hormuz to ensure free navigation. Under the proposal, one of the lanes would pass through Iranian territorial waters, where vessels would be required to notify Iranian authorities in advance of their passage. However, no fees would be charged for transit through this route. This initiative aims to facilitate maritime traffic while addressing security concerns in the strategically vital waterway.
