Inter Faces Setback as Saint-Étienne Demands €30 Million for Anan Khalaily

Inter Milan's bid to sign Israeli player Anan Khalaily has hit a snag as Saint-Étienne, his current club, rejected the Italian team's offer. Inter had proposed €20 million, potentially rising to €25 million with bonuses, but Saint-Étienne is demanding at least €30 million, marking a 50% increase over the initial offer. This development complicates negotiations that had recently accelerated, with Inter having already agreed on a five-year contract with Khalaily himself, including a salary of under €2 million per season with incremental raises.

Inter's coach, Christian Kivou, is eager to finalize the transfer promptly, aiming to have Khalaily join the team for their training camp in Germany in ten days. Kivou envisions Khalaily playing a key role on the right wing, balancing the team's left side where Federico Dimarco operates. Despite the stalled deal, the club remains focused on integrating Khalaily as a central figure in their squad.

The transfer talks now hinge on whether Inter can meet Saint-Étienne's increased financial demands or negotiate a compromise, with the outcome expected to influence the team's preparations for the upcoming season.
