Como Offers €27 Million for Israeli Winger Anan Halaily Amid Inter Milan Interest

The transfer saga of 21-year-old Israeli winger Anan Halaily to the Italian league took a new turn on Monday as Como submitted a €27 million offer to Belgian club Royal Union Saint-Gilloise. The proposal, reported by Belgian journalist Sasha Taboulieri, is structured as a loan with an obligation to buy, aiming to outbid Inter Milan, another interested party. However, a source close to Halaily told Kan News that the family rejected Como's offer, emphasizing that "the direction is Inter," and expressing hope that the deal with Inter will be finalized soon.

Halaily's preference is to join Serie A champions Inter Milan, who have shown strong interest but have yet to agree on a definitive transfer fee with Saint-Gilloise. Italian journalist Nicolo Schira noted that Inter is the player's and his family's favored destination, having reached preliminary agreement on a contract until 2031 with an estimated annual salary of €1.8 million. Despite this, Inter's official offer to the Belgian club stands at around €25 million, lower than Como's bid.

Como, coached by Cesc Fàbregas and set to compete in the Champions League next season, is owned by the wealthy Indonesian Hartono brothers, with former star Thierry Henry among the shareholders. Their recent offer attempts to leverage unresolved financial negotiations between Inter and Saint-Gilloise to secure the transfer.

Napoli, the Serie A runners-up, also engaged in early talks with Halaily's representatives but withdrew after Saint-Gilloise's demands exceeded their €20 million offer. If completed, Halaily's transfer would break the Israeli player transfer record currently held by Munas Dabbur, who moved for €17 million in 2019.

Halaily joined Saint-Gilloise in summer 2024 for €6.5 million and has since contributed to the club's first league title in 90 years and a Belgian Cup win in the 2025-26 season. This season, he scored six goals and provided five assists across 52 league and Champions League appearances. The growing interest from Italy follows his successful two-year stint in Belgium.
