Hapoel Tel Aviv Considers Adding Guard Yuval Shneiderman Alongside Tamir Blatt
Hapoel Tel Aviv is actively shaping its roster for the upcoming basketball season amid several player movements. Yam Madar is set to officially sign with Maccabi Tel Aviv soon, while Bar Timor has requested a transfer, which Hapoel currently refuses. Additionally, Yiftach Ziv has been offered to several teams and is unlikely to remain with Hapoel next season. The club has agreed on a three-year contract with point guard Tamir Blatt, who is expected to sign shortly despite some internal opposition.
Beyond Blatt, Hapoel is exploring the possibility of signing Yuval Shneiderman, who impressed last season with Hapoel Galil Elyon. Shneiderman has discussed potential roles with Hapoel Tel Aviv's coaching staff but also holds an offer to stay with Galil Elyon, where he played a key role in helping the team avoid relegation.
Shneiderman, 23, stands 1.85 meters tall and developed in Hapoel Jerusalem's youth system before playing two seasons with their senior team. He had a loan spell at Maccabi Rishon LeZion and signed with Gilboa/Galil in 2022/23 but saw limited action due to injuries. After a stint with Maccabi Ramat Gan, he broke out in the 2024/25 season at Kiryat Ata, averaging 5.2 points and 3.2 assists per game. Last season at Galil Elyon, he averaged 8.3 points and 4 assists, contributing significantly to the team's survival in the Premier League.
Hapoel Tel Aviv's recruitment efforts indicate a strategic focus on strengthening their backcourt depth for the next season under coach Dimitris Itoudis.
