Illegal Tajik Resident Charged with Espionage for Iran in Israel
Bakhruz Shakhrib Dadubayev, a 33-year-old illegal resident from Tajikistan, has been indicted for espionage on behalf of Iran. According to the indictment filed today by Aviv Bar-Or of the Tel Aviv District Attorney's Office, Dadubayev was recruited and operated from February to June under the direction of Iranian intelligence agents via the Telegram app. He systematically gathered intelligence on Israel's strategic and military infrastructure, receiving payments in cryptocurrency for his activities.
The charges against Dadubayev include contact with a foreign agent, providing information to benefit the enemy, and delivering information with intent to harm state security. The prosecution has requested to extend his detention until the conclusion of legal proceedings. The indictment reveals that Dadubayev was managed by Iranian operatives using the codenames "Anna," "Uri," and "Polina." He transmitted details such as missile impact locations during Operation "Tiger Roar" and conducted surveillance tasks including photographing Haifa port and the Elbit Systems factory.
At one point, Dadubayev expressed fear of arrest to the agent "Polina" and indicated he had ceased his missions. She warned that refusal would lead to immediate severance of contact. The next day, he resumed cooperation. Additionally, Dadubayev actively participated in Iran's efforts to expand espionage networks in Israel by distributing dozens of recruitment ads in immigrant neighborhoods in Ashdod and Tel Aviv, aiming to enlist others for similar missions.
