Israeli Citizen Charged with Espionage for Iran, Documented Missile Strikes and Filmed Haifa Port
The Israeli prosecution filed a formal indictment against Bahroz Subirgan, an Israeli citizen holding a Russian passport, accusing him of serious espionage activities on behalf of Iranian intelligence. The indictment was submitted to the Tel Aviv District Court on Monday, ahead of the official charges expected to be filed in the coming days.
According to the prosecution, Subirgan maintained contact with an Iranian foreign agent since January 2026. His espionage activities intensified during the 'Roar of the Lion' conflict, during which he documented and relayed missile impact locations within Israel to his Iranian handlers, aiming to undermine national security.
In addition to tracking missile strikes, Subirgan was tasked with photographing strategic sites, including Haifa Port and the Azrieli Towers in Tel Aviv. He also attempted to photograph another sensitive security facility, all under the direction of his Iranian operators.
The charges to be filed against him will include contact with a foreign agent and providing information to an enemy with intent to harm state security. The prosecution intends to request his detention until the conclusion of legal proceedings.
