Illegal Tajik Resident Charged with Spying for Iran in Israel
The Israeli State Prosecutor's Office has filed an indictment at the Tel Aviv District Court against Bakhruz Shakhrib Dudubaev, a 33-year-old illegal resident from Tajikistan, accusing him of espionage on behalf of Iran. According to the indictment, Dudubaev operated from February to June, using the Telegram app to collect intelligence on Israel's strategic and military infrastructure in exchange for cryptocurrency payments.
The indictment further states that Dudubaev provided information about missile impact locations during Operation "Lion's Roar" and took photographs at the Haifa port and the Elbit Systems factory. He faces serious security charges including contact with a foreign agent, delivering information to benefit the enemy, and intentionally providing information to harm state security.
This case highlights ongoing concerns about foreign espionage targeting critical Israeli infrastructure. The legal proceedings will continue in the Tel Aviv District Court as authorities pursue the charges against Dudubaev.
