Jerusalem Closes Key Roads for Maccabiah Night Race Starting Tuesday Evening
The Jerusalem Municipality announced that starting Tuesday at 5:00 PM, several major streets in the city will be closed to prepare for the Maccabiah Night Race. These closures will cause significant traffic disruptions along the race routes throughout the event. On race day, streets including Ruppin, Rabin, Ben Zvi, Hazaz, Lorch, Fichman, Tchernichovsky, and Shai Agnon will be closed to vehicle traffic. Additional closures will affect Herzog, Shuta Rustaveli, Museum Boulevard, Elisher Road, Brodetsky Road, and Balfour Road. Vehicles parked along the race routes will not be allowed to leave until the event concludes and the roads reopen.
Parking restrictions will begin earlier on Monday, July 6, 2026, at 8:00 PM on Ben Zvi and Ruppin streets and will remain in effect until midnight after the race on Tuesday. Public transportation routes will also be altered during the event, and the municipality advises passengers to check updated routes in advance via transportation company websites, information centers, or the municipal hotline 106.
