Jerusalem Prepares for Major Traffic Disruptions Ahead of Night Race on July 7
Jerusalem municipality announced significant traffic and parking changes in preparation for the "Maccabiah Jerusalem Night Race 2026" scheduled for Tuesday, July 7, 2026. Starting at 5:00 PM on race day, several key streets including Ruppin, Rabin, Ben Zvi, Hazaz, Lorch, Fichman, Tchernichovsky, Shai Agnon, Herzog, Shota Rustaveli, Museum Boulevard, Elisher Road, Brodetsky Road, and Balfour Road will be closed to vehicle traffic. Additional traffic disruptions are expected on streets adjacent to the race routes.
Parking will be prohibited on Ben Zvi and Ruppin streets from 8:00 PM on Monday, July 6, until midnight on Tuesday, July 7. Vehicles parked along the race routes will not be allowed to leave until the event concludes and roads reopen. The municipality advises residents and visitors to check for alternative public transportation routes, as bus lines will be rerouted during the event.
The city expects the event to conclude by 11:00 PM. These measures aim to ensure safety and smooth conduct of the race, which is part of the Maccabiah Games activities. Residents are urged to plan accordingly for the extended traffic restrictions and parking bans.
