Reserve Soldier from Netivot Arrested for Illegal Weapons Possession and Trafficking
An active reserve soldier from Netivot was arrested on suspicion of possessing and trafficking illegal weapons. The arrest followed a covert investigation by a special joint investigative team formed in recent weeks after receiving focused intelligence indicating serious suspicions against the soldier.
During the week, detectives from the Lahav 433 unit and military police investigators conducted a search of the suspect's home in Netivot. The search uncovered an assault rifle of the Kalashnikov type, a sniper rifle, and large quantities of ammunition, all held illegally.
The suspect was detained on the spot and transferred for further investigation and legal proceedings at the military police investigation facilities. Authorities continue to handle the case as part of their ongoing efforts to combat illegal arms trading.
