Reserve Soldier from Netivot Arrested for Illegal Arms Trading

A reserve soldier from Netivot serving in the Southern Command was arrested on suspicion of trading and possessing illegal weapons. The arrest followed a joint operation by the Lachish District Police and the Military Police Investigations Unit, which raided the soldier's home and discovered an AK-47 rifle, a sniper rifle, and a large quantity of ammunition. The soldier, who serves in the logistics unit and has participated in combat operations inside the Gaza Strip, is suspected of having taken the weapons during the events of October 7. Security officials are currently investigating this possibility. The soldier was detained and handed over to military law enforcement for further investigation. The joint statement from the police and IDF spokesperson emphasized the formation of a special investigative team to handle the case involving the illegal arms trade by an active reserve soldier.
