Israeli Authorities Charge Three for Assisting Terrorist in Sharon Vehicle Attack
The Israeli prosecution has filed charges against three Israeli citizens, Aldin Jaheim (25), Waam Matzarwa (24) from Tayibe, and Mohammad Aftima (22) from Baqa al-Gharbiyye, for aiding Omar Yassin, the terrorist who carried out the June 7 vehicle-ramming attack in the Sharon area, including Kochav Yair, Tzur Yitzhak, and Tzur Natan. The indictment reveals that the accused had prior acquaintance with Yassin. Approximately two weeks before the attack, Yassin purchased a Carlo-type rifle from Mohammad, with Aldin contributing to the payment. The weapon was concealed under the hood of Waam’s car, who drove Yassin to acquire it. On their return trip, Yassin disclosed his intention to commit a terror attack and asked Waam if he wanted to join. Waam declined but failed to report the planned attack. The indictment charges the three with weapons offenses, and Waam is additionally charged with failing to prevent a terrorist act.
