Israeli Authorities File Charges Against Suspected Accomplices in June West Bank Shooting Attack
The Israeli Security Agency (Shin Bet) and police announced that indictments will be filed today against three suspects accused of aiding the gunman who carried out a deadly shooting attack in the West Bank settlements of Kochav Ya'ir, Tzur Yitzhak, and Sela'it on June 7, 2026. The attack resulted in the death of IDF reservist Chaim Klumity and injuries to several civilians. The assailant, Omar Munder Yassin, an Israeli citizen from Tayibe, was killed shortly after the attack by Tayibe police officers.
Two Israeli citizens from Tayibe, Alaadin Jaheim and Waam Matzaroha, were arrested on suspicion of knowing about the attack plans but failing to prevent them. Investigators gathered evidence indicating their awareness of the gunman’s intentions and additional details about his activities prior to the attack. A third suspect, Mohammad Aftima from Baqa al-Gharbiyye, is accused of supplying the "Carlo" submachine gun used in the shooting.
The indictments follow a joint investigation by Shin Bet and the Central District Crime Fighting Unit. The Central District Prosecutor’s Office will submit the charges to the Lod District Court. Security agencies emphasized their zero tolerance for any Israeli involvement in terrorism or illegal arms trafficking and pledged to continue prosecuting all those involved in such activities.
