A tragic road accident near Kibbutz Tirat Tzvi in the Beit She'an Valley has claimed the lives of two young students, Yael Gabizon Room and Zohar Tamir. Gabizon Room, 18, had recently moved from the Netherlands to Israel to study agriculture at the Kaduri Agricultural School. Tamir, also 18, was a graduate of the same program and a resident of Tirat Tzvi. Three other individuals sustained injuries in the crash.

The accident occurred on Saturday evening when Tamir was driving Gabizon Room and another passenger. According to a surviving passenger, Tamir attempted to swerve to avoid a head-on collision, causing the vehicle to overturn. The surviving passenger, who was lightly injured, managed to escape the vehicle and later attended the funerals of her friends.

Gabizon Room, an only child, left her life in the Netherlands to pursue her dream of studying agriculture in Israel. Her mother followed her to Israel and rebuilt her life there, only to be left without her daughter after the tragedy. Tali Almoz, a co-founder of the "Adam VeAdama Tabor" program where Gabizon Room studied, described her as a young woman seeking meaning in Israel.

Tamir had aspirations of serving in an elite combat unit, Sayeret Matkal, and had successfully completed the unit's selection day. He had also traveled extensively. The "Adam VeAdama" program, run by the "HaShomer HaChadash" organization, brings together youth from diverse backgrounds to study and work in agriculture, fostering responsibility and mutual guarantee.

Both Gabizon Room and Tamir were laid to rest on Sunday. Hundreds of friends, fellow students, and educators gathered for Gabizon Room's funeral in Kadima-Tzoran, with many refusing to leave her graveside even after the burial concluded. The community plans to hold a "consolation olive harvest" at Moti Almoz's farm, a place where Gabizon Room had recently worked and celebrated, as a way to cope with their grief.
