Orr Yarin, a 17-year-old midfielder for Barcelona's reserve team, is expected to receive a call-up to the senior Israel national team for upcoming matches. The young talent, considered a significant prospect at Barcelona's La Masia academy, has been closely monitored by national team coach Ran Ben Shimon.
Yarin's inclusion in the senior squad is contingent on the Olympic team's elimination from Euro qualification, which occurred after a draw with Norway. Previously, Ben Shimon had agreed with Olympic team coach Guy Luzon to prioritize playing time for Yarin in the U-21 squad as long as they had a chance to qualify for the Euro.
The senior team is scheduled to play Kosovo in Pristina and Austria in Debrecen next month. Ben Shimon has been impressed by the faith shown in Yarin by Barcelona's coaching staff, including Hansi Flick, and the Spanish club.
Despite a difficult start to their current campaign, with only two points from their first four games, the professional staff remains optimistic and focused on improvement. Team members have been tasked with analyzing the team's performance in recent matches, with a detailed report to be submitted to the professional committee.
Football Association Chairman Shino Zuarz's statement that Ben Shimon will continue as coach for the next campaign has eased some pressure. However, it is understood that if the team finishes fourth in their group, Zuarz's commitment may be challenged.
