A suspect accused of harassing singer Yuval Dayan and violating a restraining order may be released to house arrest if a guarantor is found, the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court ruled Wednesday. The judge found probable cause but deemed restrictive conditions sufficient. Dayan shared her feelings about the incident on Instagram, discussing her damaged sense of security and the boundaries of public figures' privacy. The suspect allegedly repeatedly attended Dayan's performances and filmed her, leading to his re-arrest after violating a previous restraining order.

A 56-year-old man, Siman Tov Levi, suspected of harassing singer Yuval Dayan and violating a restraining order, may be released to house arrest once a guarantor is found to secure the conditions. Judge Roi Peri of the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court made this decision on Wednesday, extending Levi's detention until Thursday at 10:00 AM pending the finding of a suitable guarantor.

"This case certainly allows for release under conditions," the judge stated, finding probable cause for the offense and that the violation of release conditions constituted grounds for arrest. However, he determined that restrictive conditions would suffice. The primary obstacle remains securing a guarantor.

Dayan addressed the case for the first time on her Instagram, expressing her damaged sense of security. "I assume you've heard what I'm going through these days. The matter is being handled by the police, and I trust them, myself, and God that everything will be resolved and my sense of security will return soon," she wrote.

She also commented on the boundary between public exposure and private life, emphasizing that despite being public figures, personal space is entirely private. "The feeling is complex, but it's important for me to remember: each of us has a choice and the ability to decide what is appropriate and what crosses their line."

According to the suspicion, Levi repeatedly attended Dayan's performances and documented her. He allegedly traveled to Ashdod to try and meet her at her synagogue. After being investigated and released with a restraining order, he reportedly returned to another performance hours later, sat in the front row, and filmed her, leading to his re-arrest.

During Wednesday's hearing, police representative Sgt. Maj. Nir Malka requested an extension of the arrest to complete seven investigative actions, arguing that the suspect's release could hinder five of them. Levi's defense attorney argued for his release, disputing the allegations and suggesting that Dayan's public profile and social media activity might render the actions not constituting harassment or stalking. The defense also claimed Levi was not clearly informed of the restraining order's conditions, which is why he attended another performance.
