Maccabi Tel Aviv Nears Signing of Israeli Veterans Eli Dasa and Dan Glazer

Maccabi Tel Aviv is close to finalizing the return of two Israeli players, defender Eli Dasa and midfielder Dan Glazer, as part of its preparations for the upcoming season. The club has reached a preliminary agreement with Dasa, who is expected to earn around 400,000 euros per season on a two-year contract with an option. Dasa, who played last season with Dutch club NEC Nijmegen and reached the cup final, is arranging his return to Israel, including housing logistics. His comeback to Maccabi Tel Aviv marks a professional full circle, having won his only championship title with the club in the 2019/20 season before playing abroad with Vitesse Arnhem and Dynamo Moscow.

Meanwhile, Dan Glazer is expected to announce his club choice soon amid competition between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Beitar Jerusalem. Glazer has reportedly agreed on a salary of approximately 270,000 euros with Beitar, but Maccabi's financial ability to cover his release clause gives them a significant advantage. Glazer, who grew up in Kiryat Shalom and was a key player in youth championships, is under strong pressure from Maccabi’s sporting director Steven Vanahan to return to the yellow and blue team.

These signings come as Maccabi Tel Aviv prepares for potential departures of key players, including midfielders Iso Sissoko and Ido Shahar, who seeks a move to Europe, and concerns over defender Roy Revivo’s future. Strengthening the Israeli defensive and midfield core is crucial for maintaining squad flexibility, especially regarding foreign player slots, ahead of the challenges in the Israeli Premier League and European competitions.
