Maccabi Tel Aviv Plans Key Signings After 2025/26 Double Victory

Following their impressive double win in the 2025/26 season and triumph over Hapoel Tel Aviv in the finals, Maccabi Tel Aviv is actively shaping its roster for the upcoming season. The club aims to finalize its squad quickly, having already signed Bonzi Colson. A primary focus is securing a leading center, with advanced negotiations underway for Rishon Holmes, though his high cost is a concern. Another candidate is former Fenerbahce player Armando Baykut. The center position will include a top player, Roman Sorkin, and a third center, with decisions pending on Zach Hankins, whose strong season finish might influence his future with the team.

At the guard position, significant gaps remain, especially with Danish guard Lundberg, who demands $10 million over three years, complicating talks. Similarly, Tamir Blatt, whose contract expired, is in negotiations; Maccabi offers $1 million, but his demands are higher as he explores other options. Lonnie Walker has an NBA exit option until July 15, with reported league interest. Should any of these guards depart, Maccabi plans to recruit replacements to refresh the backcourt.
