Maccabi Tel Aviv targets Dan Glazer as Sissoko exit looms
Maccabi Tel Aviv has made a surprise move to bring back former captain Dan Glazer, who was once named the club’s Player of the Season. Negotiations are still underway, and the offer on the table is reportedly €250,000 per year on a two-year deal with an option for a third season.
The reason behind the approach is the expected sale of midfielder Iffet Sissokho this summer. In the past day, Spanish clubs Levante and Elche were reported to be interested in signing him, and Maccabi believe his departure could leave a gap in the defensive midfield next to Belec.
Because of that, the Israeli cup holders want to add an experienced, senior midfielder who can step into that role. Glazer is seen as fitting those requirements, which explains why the club has prioritized him now.
